Show Details

Synopsis: In this interactive 45-minute show, curious, strong-willed young Goldilocks is punished for taking her family’s things without permission, so she decides to go off and live on her own where she’ll have everything to herself. Meanwhile, it is Baby Bear’s birthday, and the Bear family has decided to venture into town to find some honey as a birthday treat. Unfortunately, the town is not so welcoming of the Bears, and they rush back to the safety of their home. But when they arrive, they are astonished to find that Goldilocks has taken over their house! This sweet story teaches young theatregoers the power of kindness and generosity through lovable characters, audience interaction, and lots of laughs!

Character Breakdown

Goldilocks (this role has been pre-cast)- A curious but self-centered young child who has trouble seeing the consequences of her actions.

Baby Bear/Silver Curls (Any Gender Identity, 18+ to play younger)- The sweet, loving child of the Bear family. Grateful for what they have; they always put their family first. Will also double as Goldilocks’ sibling.

Mama Bear (Female-identifying, 30s-50s)- The kind-hearted mother of the Bear family who will do anything for her family. She is wary of the dangers of the outside world and just wants to protect her baby.

Papa Bear (Male-identifying, 30s-50s)- The father of the Bear family who is fed up with having to hide from the world and doesn’t want his child to miss out on the beauty of life.

Goldilocks’ Mother (Female-identifying, any age 18+)- Goldilocks’ caring but no-nonsense mother who wrongly assumes that the Bear family has bad intentions and learns not to judge a book by its cover.

Stipend: $100 transportation stipend, plus a portion of profits

Because audiences are invited free of charge, we are unable to offer larger stipends up-front. However, any net profits made through donations, grants, and sponsorships will be divided amongst the cast and crew.
