Policies

Please review the following policies for any questions regarding Stagebugz procedures. By registering for a Stagebugz program, you agree that you have reviewed and accepted all listed policies below, as well as any other policies outlined or stated on registration terms and conditions, Stagebugz website, and other material produced by Stagebugz program directors.

Refunds and Transfers

All tuition-based classes and camps at Stagebugz require a non-refundable deposit at the time of registration. Once your registration has been received, this deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances, and may not be transferred to any other program. Registering for a program and paying the non-refundable deposit represents a commitment to participate, and Stagebugz incurs up-front fees based on the number of students registered for each program. Any remaining tuition amount (after the deposit) that is paid before a program's payment deadline (usually the Friday prior to the start date) may be refunded, transferred, or awarded as a credit until the tuition payment deadline. Absolutely no refunds or credits of any amount will be granted after the payment deadline. Please visit your program's page or review your confirmation email for specific date information.

Emergency Cancellation Policy

Stagebugz will follow all local, state, and national policies regarding COVID-19 and any other unanticipated health and safety emergencies. Stagebugz reserves the right to postpone, cancel, or alter any class or program if a health or safety threat is assessed by authorities including but not limited to state, local, and federal governments, health officials, or the Stagebugz Board of Directors. No refunds, credits, or transfers will be offered for cancellations or postponments made after the start date of a program. For classes and camps which have not yet begun, families will be offered a refund or credit of any amount paid after the non-refundable deposit, and the non-refundable deposit may be transferred to another program.

Credits

In special circumstances such as significant volunteer contribution or cancellation of a program, a family may be granted credits towards a future class or camp. Credits must be used towards programs occuring within 11 (eleven) calendar months from the date credits were offered.* A minimum payment of a program's non-refundable deposit is required to register, and credits may not be applied to this portion of tuition.

*Credits granted prior to May 31st, 2024 may be used for programs with a start date on or before May 31st, 2025.

Changes

While never anticipated, all class, camp, workshop, and other programs at Stagebugz are subject to minor changes in dates, times, location, and/or theme or content. No exceptions to the refund policy will be made.

Absence and Late Policies

Because every student is vital to a production, it is important for performers to attend all rehearsals to which they are called. More than one unexcused absence may result in re-casting of a child's role in order to ensure the cast can continue to rehearse productively. Parents are expected to notify instructors prior to the start of class if their child will be late or absent. If a child is not present at rehearsal without notification and Stagebugz instructors are unable to reach the child's parents/guardians/emergency contacts, we reserve the right to involve any authorities deemed necessary to ensure a child's safety.

Participants are expected to maintain punctuality during Stagebugz programs. We cannot guarantee that a child who arrives late to the start of a rehearsal, class, or camp will be admitted, unless prior arrangements have been made with directors. Instructions for late arrivals will be sent for each specific program and must be followed. Parents who arrive more than 10 minutes late for pick-up will be charged an initital late fee of $10, followed by an additional charge of $1/minute.

Behavior Policies

Stagebugz prides itself on being welcoming and inclusive of all backgrounds and beliefs, and our students are encouraged to respect and value each other's differences. Stagebugz instructors and content will not promote any specific religious or political beliefs, and all program-related materials and discussions will be kept age-appropriate, as deemed by the instructors. Discrimination, hate, or bullying by campers or their families is never tolerated, and anyone displaying hurtful or unsafe behavior may be sent home for the day or removed from camp or class without a refund.  If a student feels hurt, uncomfortable, or excluded for any reason, please notify directors immediately and we will work with all involved parties to address the situation.

At Stagebugz, we emphasize the importance of respecting each other's boundaries and stepping outside our comfort zones in a mindful way.  On the first day of a program, we will have a discussion with children about expressing and honoring their boundaries and each other's. We strive to make sure campers understand this is their show, and instructors are always willing to work with them to ensure their safety, comfort, and enjoyment.

During productions and classes, students may be interacting with costumes, props, and other delicate equipment, and should only use them as instructed. Misuse of these items may not only result in expensive damage, but can also pose safety hazards. Failure to treat the space and equipment respectfully after multiple warnings may result in a child being sent home for the day and/or being charged for any damage caused, and if this becomes a continued occurrence Stagebugz reserves the right to remove the student from camp with no refund.

Accommodations

Part of our mission at Stagebugz is to make theatre education as accessible and inclusive as possible! Our instructors have experience and training working with performers of all abilities, and we will always do our best to meet each student's individual needs. To request specific accommodations, please contact Stagebugz before registering, or at least 21 days in advance of a program's start date (whichever comes first), and every reasonable effort will be made to meet these requests. Students will never be excluded from a program due to their needs, but certain accommodations may not be possible if they are not requested in a timely manner, or if they significantly impact the safety or comfort of other participants. Stagebugz complies with all guidelines established by the Americans with Disabilities Act in both our hiring practices and program development.

If you are unsure whether Stagebugz is the right fit for your child or family, we are happy to discuss your needs and honestly evaluate whether we are best suited to handle them! Refunds, transfers, or credits will not be possible due to an inability to provide accommodations not discussed prior to registering.

Media Policy

By attending a Stagebugz program, you give permission for images of your child, captured during regular program activities through video, photo and digital camera, to be used solely for the purposes of Stagebugz Theater in promotional materials and publications, including the Stagebugz Theater website and social media, and you agree to waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto. Exception requests to this policy must be submitted in writing at least seven (7) days prior to the start of intended program.

Birthday Party Payments

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of party package cost is due in order to secure your booking. Any add-ons must be paid in full at least seven (7) days prior to the party date and cannot be refunded within seven (7) days. Remaining payment is due 24 hours before start of the party. Failure to pay remaining payment will result in cancellation of the party booking with no refund of the deposit. Reschedule requests must be submitted in writing at least 24 hours in advance, and a postponement fee of $50 will be charged. No refunds of any amount will be issued within 24 hours of the party start time.
