Spring 2025 Programs
Spring into theatre this semester at Stagebugz! Start the year off strong with our full-scale musical, Blackbox play, or performing arts classes. Performers of all ages and experience levels will hone their abilities, learn new skills tailored to their interests, and perform on stage. As with all Stagebugz shows, every participant in a production class will have a featured role with at least one line and solo (for musicals) and relatively equal stage time. Tuition is all-inclusive (no surprise fees from Stagebugz!), and need-based scholarships are available. So, whether your child is Broadway-bound or new to the stage, celebrate the joy of theatre with us this spring!
Scholarship and Grant Applications for those unable to afford full tuition are available on the FINANCIAL AID PAGE

Mainstage Musical
The Mainstage Musical is Stagebugz's big event of the season, where performers ages 9-17 of all experience levels work to present a two-act, full-scale musical! This program is designed to bring together the Stagebugz community, with exciting roles for all participants and opportunities for each student to highlight their strengths and develop new ones. Actors will spend time in peer groups where they'll bond with other students their age while still working with and learning from those older and younger than them, though all material and activities will be kept age-appropriate. Performers will spend rehearsal time singing popular Broadway songs, learning thrilling dances, and exploring character study and basic script analysis as they develop their show. They will learn skills and techniques to carry with them in any future path they choose, all while making lifelong friends and participating in the magic of live theatre. The production ends with a full tech week, followed by a weekend of performances for family, friends, and fans!

Mini Company Musical
This spring, Stagebugz's youngest performers ages 4-9 will get to star in our mainstage musical, ending their program with three performances of a fully-staged production! The Mini Company will rehearse and learn in their own class with activities, games, and lessons tailored to their age group as they explore each step of putting on a show, from auditioning to making props to performing in front of an audience. They will have their own numbers in the mainstage musical, and each performer will play a named character with lines and a solo. Through games, crafts, and rehearsals, they will learn about the basics of theatre while developing skills in singing, acting, and dancing; making new friends; and building their confidence! Performers work towards joining the mainstage cast for final performances complete with costumes, sets, props, and a live audience!

Lakewood Blackbox Company
Stagebugz is thrilled to announce that our Spring Blackbox Production will be presented in collaboration with the Colorado School of Acting! As one of the country's only career-focused training programs for young performers, the Colorado School of Acting offers unparallelled resources for students of all experience levels to expand their acting toolbelts and explore personal interests and goals at their own pace, whether this is their first show or they have their sites set on Broadway! The Blackbox Company is an acting-focused program designed for older students to jump into advanced acting curriculum while diving deep into the full process of developing a production and working as an ensemble. Performers will get a taste of the rehearsal process of professional actors as they work towards putting on a fully-staged straight play, while having tons of fun! Rehearsals will include games, bonding time, and technical work, leading up to a final blackbox-style public performance.
